Abseiling

You step off the edge, then there's nothing underneath your feet. Below you, the Maletsunyane Falls drop 192 metres straight down into the gorge, the water crashes into mist far beneath you. You control your own speed as you go — you can pause to look around, then continue further down through the spray.

This is the longest single-drop abseil in the world, listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. Before you go over the edge, certified instructors at Semonkong Lodge walk you through the basics — how to hold the rope, how to move your body and how to control your descent. So you'll be ready even if you've never abseiled before. No experience required. Just a willingness to step off.
